With the rapid development of Solar photovoltaic technologies over past several years, Solar PV now offers numerous advantages .

Some of these advantages include energy cost reduction, Low maintenance, noise free systems and the generation of environmentally friendly, clean energy. GSL Contracting offer several solar options, these include: Solar PV only install, full PV & battery storage install, and finally PV & Battery storage retrofit enabling you to pick the perfect system for your green energy needs.

We are MCS accredited solar PV installers, and specialise in domestic and commercial roof mount PV systems. We are also members of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC) giving you peace of mind that we do business in a professional and honest manner, ensuring that all contracts agreed meet a strict code of conduct.

Solar Services

PV Systems

Working with our industry leading product partners we offer the latest in invertor and PV panel technology alongside their advanced ‘smart’ monitoring options.

We know that each system needs to be site specific, so during our consultation periods, we endeavour to clarify the key performance points and work to structure the needs in an efficient cost conscious way.

PV System & Battery Storage Retrofit

Here at GSL we can also help combine your existing solar PV system with battery storage technology. This will help increase savings on your electricity bills and decrease your reliance on the grid.

If your solar invertor is 8-10 years old, it may be time and advantageous to consider a hybrid replacement and take advantage of battery storage.

New PV & Battery Storage Systems

As the both the Feed in Tariff (FIT) and export payment incentives have come to an end, it now makes financial sense to invest in battery storage and harness all of the energy that your PV system generates.

We can offer a full survey, design, installation and commissioning service to both domestic and commercial clients.

What are solar panels?

Solar panel electricity systems, also known as photovoltaics (PV), capture the sun’s energy using photovoltaic cells. These cells don’t need direct sunlight to work – they can still generate some electricity on a cloudy day. The cells convert the sunlight into electricity, which can be used to run household appliances and lighting.

The benefits of solar electricity

Cut your electricity bills. Sunlight is free, so once you’ve paid for the initial installation, your electricity costs will be reduced. Cut your carbon footprint. Solar electricity is green renewable energy and doesn’t release any harmful carbon dioxide or other pollutants. A typical home solar PV system could save around 1.3 to 1.6 tonnes of carbon per year (depending where you are within the UK).

How do solar panels (PV) work?

PV cells are made from layers of semi-conducting material, usually silicon.
When light shines on the cell it creates an electric field across the layers. The stronger the sunshine, the more electricity is produced. Groups of cells are mounted together in panels or modules that can either be mounted on your roof or on the ground.

The power of a PV cell is measured in kilowatts peak (kWp). That’s the rate at which it generates energy at peak performance in full direct sunlight during the summer. PV cells come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
